Lushan Clouds + Mist
This is a gateway tea for anyone who isn't too sure about "that green tea business". Rich in color, aroma and flavor, this tea perfectly balances the refined qualities that many green tea drinkers appreciate, while also retaining an assertive aspect in body and finish that appeals to black, oolong and puer drinkers. With notes of rhubarb, lilac and buttered popcorn, it punches well above its weight and deserves a place in any tea lover's heavy rotation list.
Yun Wu translates to Clouds and Mist, which is probably one of the more recognizable green tea names in the west. Although many regions in China produce this tea, Lushan is famous for being its birthplace. The quality of this tea shows that it is still able to stand above the competition.
Teamaker - Mr. Chen
Garden - Huang Run Yuan
Location- Lushan, Jiujiang, Jiangxi
Harvest Time - Mid April 2022
Cultivar - Quntizhong (local bush, or more appropriately, seed propagated plants)
- Gong Fu - This tea works best in porcelain vessels. Semi porous clay will mute some of the tea's top notes. Since the leaf is small and curled, we recommend filling to about a third of the vessel with dry leaf. Try it grandpa style, where a little goes a long way and be ready to cinch those pants!
- Western - Use 1 heaping teaspoon per 8 oz of water. Add 175F water and steep for 4-6 minutes. Can be re-steeped a second time, adding 2-3 minutes to the original steep time.
