Last Minute Gucci - 90s Menghai Shu Puer
$13.00
Spend enough time in the larger airports of Asia and you will find yourself at some point running a gauntlet of luxury goods stores free of people, save for a listless attendant staring into the abyss of a cell phone.
On a recent trip, walking past an empty Gucci outlet, the question arose as to who would need Gucci at that very moment, on their way to catch a flight? This tea's name is that answer.
Notes of leather, baked bread and iodine abound with a nice grounding vibe, making this a much better souvenir over a pair of Gucci slides.
Location - Menghai, Xisghuangbanna Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China
Storage - Originally stored in Hong Kong, before being brought to Taipei in 2000.
Harvest Time - 1990s
BREWING INSTRUCTIONS
- Gong Fu - This tea works great in both porcelain and semi porous vessels. We recommend filling a third of the vessel with dry leaf. A quick rinse is always recommended too before brewing. Works it like a Gucci handbag in grandpa style too.
- Western - Use 1 heaping teaspoon per 8 oz of water. Add 212F water and steep for 4-6 minutes. Can be re-steeped a second and third time, adding 2-3 minutes to each steep.
