Jonathan Steele has been making pottery since 2009 and has honed the nuances of teaware craft since 2016. Jonathan holds an MFA from Oregon College of Art and Craft and has completed residencies at Pleasant Hill Pottery in Oregon and Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park in Shigaraki, Japan. He recently built his studio in Redmond, WA and lives in Seattle.
This gaiwan was fired at a lower temperature, so the porcelain did not vitrify. With no glaze on the inside, it is best suited for darker oolongs, hei chas and black teas.
