Jonathan Steele has been making pottery since 2009 and has honed the nuances of teaware craft since 2016. Jonathan holds an MFA from Oregon College of Art and Craft and has completed residencies at Pleasant Hill Pottery in Oregon and Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park in Shigaraki, Japan. He recently built his studio in Redmond, WA and lives in Seattle.
This work is from the “Spring 2026 Collection” that was handmade in Redmond, WA and woodfired in three kilns “Cloud Kiln” near Granite Falls, WA, the Anagama and small kiln “Firetruck” at Pleasant Hill Pottery. These kilns all fired above cone 11 with various atmospheric goals to vitrify the clay and promote various color and surface effects.
