Hand Chiseled Pear Teapot - 135 ml

A female owned pottery that makes pots that check all our boxes - simple and classic, with slight variations.  

This teapot is unglazed inside, so is best suited for select oolongs, black and puer/hei cha.

Purple clay from Jian Shui has been used for pottery since the Qing Dynasty, however it has only been till fairly recently (the last three or four decades) that it has been used to make teapots. This clay is more dense than the purple clay from Yixing. It is said to be halfway between porcelain and clay from Yixing. We have found these pots to work well with many of the same teas.
